They call it the Kettle: a perfect ring of dark water with an island of stone at its heart, and on that island the fortress of Ketelburcht.

For three generations its garrison has held the northern road, taking a toll from every wagon that passed and answering every protest with archers on the parapet. The old king let them be. The new king has other ideas.

You and your ally hold the lands to the south, divided by the river that drains the Kettle and joined by a single bridge. Two more bridges cross the ring itself, one to the west and one to the east. They are the only way into the fortress, and the only way its columns can come out.

And come out they will. The stables and forges of Ketelburcht never cool. Long before your own barracks is ready, their riders will be in your fields.

Take the island, or lose the south. There is no third ending.
